A BIG SWITCH SWAP- NEW EDUCATION POLICY.

Updated: Oct 23, 2022

“EDUCATION IS NOT THE LEARNING OF FACTS, BUT THE TRAINING OF THE MIND TO THINK- BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD.”

LAUNCHED ON- 29 JULY 2020

The NEP was arguably India’s greatest step for students and professionals on the platform of education. The initiative has received widespread support and acclaim from a variety of demographic collaborators since it was announced. In fact, the policy is a step forward in the direction of structural advancements that our educational system desperately requires. In each educational system, students and instructors are the major participants. The policy has, thankfully, maintained both of these parties at the forefront.

For educational institutions, the planned regulatory framework is a positive development. The change from “acceptance” to “empowerment” will motivate organisations and educational institutions to raise the standard of their operations. In order to eliminate corrupt practices and political meddling in the management of educational institutions, uniform statutory authorities and individualistic governing boards for foundations and institutions are ideally needed.

Students will get a number of advantages from their schooling. The pressure of cramming and writing will be decreased, thanks to the revised exam schedule. The bordering lines between “humanities,” “commerce,” “science,” etc. will no longer exist. It will now result in the curriculum’s expansion, thus selection of courses from a plethora of subject options available. As a result, youngsters, future leaders and game changers are probably to think more widely and come up with versatile ideas and thoughts. The concept of an academic shop is fairly out of the ground since it will provide students a tremendous degree of freedom to customise their education according to individual interests and objectives. In order to save students from having to study for a variety of examinations, the entrance exams have been consolidated to form a single admissions test, thus eliminating the need to join coaching for different spheres of aspects to examine. The latest example of this is, University of Delhi has come up with CUET (Central Universities Common Entrance Test) and therefore eliminating the admission process on the basis of cut-offs. This will bring up a fair judgment of students, placing them to the topmost colleges according to the competition and result.

“AN INVESTMENT IN KNOWLEDGE PAYS THE BEST INTEREST.”

The inclusion of vocational education at the secondary and post-secondary levels will improve student’s’ practical thinking and make their course work more applicable to real-world situations. The curriculum in higher education will provide various options to students from different spheres of subjects, no matter whether that subject is considered in commerce department or science department or arts department. All institutions will adopt an ambidextrous approach as a result of the altered structure.

In light of India’s geographical and social-economic aspects, the push for education is not only well-considered for students but also for teachers and education professionals. Our human resources will be more effectively and efficiently connected to the developing economy only if we train our large and enthusiastic population in fundamental skills such as technology advancements, basic learning and fluency. India is a developing and expanding nation, thus extra efforts need to be made in order to train the population and contribute towards the development of the nation together. Thus, hundreds, thousands and millions of people need to be skilled and come up with enriching activities and policies for the growth of the country. The policy is known for its focus on educators and teacher preparations. NEP has come up with important results, ranging from overhauling the outdated system of teacher education to developing a strong system of performance-based evaluation.

“GRADES DOESN’T MEASURE INTELLIGENCE AND AGE DOESN’T DEFINE MATURITY. THE MOST IMPORTANT ATTITUDE THAT CAN BE FORMED IS THAT OF DESIRE TO GO ON LEARNING.”

All facets of education are being incorporated with computers, phones and wires. Artificial intelligence plays a significant role in the education sector of a country. In certain fields, digitalisation has advanced from being simply sustainable to being desirable. The government has already announced the availability of online professional courses, degrees and certifications. The pandemic of coronavirus has made us learn and adapt this practice very well. Students and keen learners are now more inclined to online certifications since everything has been turned online during the pandemic. Now online has become a habit instead of offline. Therefore, digitalisation has made its way clear amidst of COVID-19 pandemic. NEP prospects will lead to continuous practical learning and examining of both the students and the employees simultaneously, no challenge of the age criteria falls here.

India might go on a deep-rooted economic orientation, thanks to the National Education Policy 2020.

“विद्याधनं सर्वधनं प्रधानम्।।
Education Is The Supreme Wealth Among All Kinds Of Wealth.”
