VOICE OF WOMAN

Updated: Oct 21, 2022

WOMAN – A MOTHER, A WIFE. A SISTER. A LEADER- [POWER TO FIRE]

A WOMAN WITH A VOICE IS BY DEFINITION, A STRONG WOMAN!

Our society has long been promoting patriarchy. The bias starts even before a baby is born. We celebrate when a boy is born and not so often when a girl is born. Female child literacy rate is much lower than the male child. Throughout their lives, the expectations from male and female varies a lot, how they are expected to behave and what they are expected to do, such as not going out of homes, doing household work, obeying the instructions, freedom to express, etc. Therefore, there is an urgency to empower women. ‘FEMINISM’ should be considered the pinnacle of the situation and therefore, feminism can be defined as the advocacy of women’s rights on the grounds of the equality of males and females.

While men and women are differentiated only by their gender and not by their capabilities, abilities and thoughts, so it is beyond my comprehension why such a deep divide and bias is entrenched in our society. When by all means they are equal and when the principles of equality and human rights for everyone are enshrined in our constitutions, then why should we even have such a debate. Why the law enforcement agencies fail when any kind of bias is illegal by law?

Whenever women have been provided equal opportunities and platforms to perform, we have seen the outcomes which we can be proud of. From Kalpana Chawla to Mother Teresa, Kiran Bedi to Sushma Swaraj, Indira Nooyi to Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Sania Mirza to Saina Nehwal , women hockey team to women cricket team all excelled in their fields and are inspiring the current generations.

SHE BELIEVED, SHE COULD, SO SHE DID – WOMAN, the stalwart character on the mother Earth. By suppressing half of the population of our country, we are unable to unlock the true potential both socially and economically. The more able hands contributing to society, the more competitive and progressive our nation would be.

I as being a proud girl and a future woman, want to end up my thoughts by quoting the lines,

YOU EDUCATE A GIRL CHILD, YOU EDUCATE THE ENTIRE NEXT GENERATION. YOU EMPOWER A WOMAN, YOU NURTURE THE ENTIRE NEXT GENERATION!

Therefore, let’s unite together and fire upon the biases in the society in order to articulate effectively through raising the ‘VOICE OF WOMAN’..
